About MED-NET
MED-NET is a thematic network within the SOCRATES-ERASMUS programme of the European Union. The network offers a forum for discussion and communication concerning actual topics and issues in Medical Education in Europe. With the use of this Internet-site MED-NET wants to improve the communication and information exchange between all who are involved in medical education: faculties of medicine, medical schools, hospitals, teachers, education managers and students.
Goals
Since there is an increasing difficulty in collecting and getting access to the right information, MED-NET's ambition is to achieve more structure in existing information. One way to achieve this ambition is the use of this homepage. The site provides an umbrella structure for access to available information. Another way is to publish on a regular base a number of different MED-NET monographs on education topics positioned in a European perspective. These publications can be ordered in our KIOSK on the site. The third objective is to organise conferences and workshops in co-operation with active associations for students, teachers, medical professionals and medical schools. All the information on these conferences can also be found on the site.
Another goal of MED-NET is to promote the communication and exchange of experiences and ideas between the different target groups as mentioned above. MED-NET aims to elaborate and consolidate these operational institutional links for student and staff mobility.
