ETM has been broadcasting high-quality live and interactive continuing medical education programmes for postgraduate doctors since 1992. The concept is based on the dissemination of evidence-based best practice. Text summaries of past programmes are available from the ETM web site http://www.etm.nl. On this site Real Audio "slide show" versions of the ETM programmes are stored, including the slides used by presenters during the live programme. These Real Audio files (and early 1999 also Real Video) can be accesed by any doctor with a multimedia PC or MAC connected to the Internet at 28.8 Kb/s or faster.
