ARTICLE II: MED-NET BODIES
II.B: MED-NET TASK FORCE
Section 1. Composition
- One Chairperson
- The Vice-chairperson
- The (other) members of the Central MED-NET Board (4)
- Members and co-opted members who are invited on personal title on basis of activities or chairmanship of a reference group
Section 2. Duties.
The MED-NET Task Force is responsible for the execution of the MED-NET tasks to satisfy the objectives and activities set forth in Article 1 of these by-laws. In more detail the duties of the Task Force are:
- To design the major policy guidelines for the network
- To agree on the annual activity plans, including budgets and planned achievements
- To co-ordinate the activities of the various reference groups and project groups
- To propose new developments, initiatives and projects
- To install new Thematic Reference Groups
- To take care of the continuity of activities in MED-NET and MED-NET projects
- To authorise all official publications of MED-NET
- To act as intermediates to (groups of) medical faculties and organisations / associations
- To represent the MED-NET membership
- To evaluate the activities and achievements of the Thematic Reference Groups
Section 3. Procedures
The tenure for Task Force members shall be staggered terms of three years each.
- Each year at the Members' Assembly the Task Force will present its composition, including mutations, e.g. new tasks and functions, resigning and new members.
- The Members' Assembly annually shall confirm the composition of the Task Force. The Task Force is obliged to take into account the majority opinion of the Members' Assembly.
- The Chairperson of the Task Force shall be elected biennially by the Task Force members for a term starting in odd-numbered calendar years.
- The Vice-Chairperson shall be elected biennially by the Task Force members for a term starting in even-numbered calendar years.
- In case of vacancies in the Task Force, the resigning member, a full member of the network, or the Advisory Board shall acquire new members.
- The Task Force may determine such incapacity of MED-NET chairperson to constitute a permanent vacancy because of death, resignation or other valid reason.
- The specific tasks of the Task Force will be assigned to their members during the Task Force meetings and shall be confirmed in the minutes of the meetings.
- The Task Force shall meet at least two times per year. One meeting shall coincide in time and location with the annual MED-NET conference. The chairperson or his/her substitute shall chair the meetings. Decisions by the Task Force shall be taken in consensus. In the case when no consensus can be reached the decision shall be taken on the basis of a two / third majority of votes.
- The Task Force shall annually reconfirm or expire all Reference Groups and projects of MED-NET.
- The members of the Task Force are entitled to propose new themes or items concerning Medical Education to be elaborated.
- The Central MED-NET Office shall give notice of the meetings of the Task Force, at least one month in advance.
- The functioning of the Task Force is monitored and evaluated by the Advisory Board. This Advisory Board informs the Task Force annually concerning his findings.
- Upon dysfunction of a Task Force member, the Chairperson of the Central MED-NET Board is entitled to expel that member and to propose a substitute.
